The Bac – FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about AlligatorZone®’s Industry Baccalauréat™ Program

Why is AlligatorZone®’s Industry Baccalauréat™ Program phased and spread out over 3 years?

In our experience with programs run over a 3-month semester duration, or the week-long summer workshops, participants were getting warmed up just as the sessions ended, and unfortunately they lacked the support system at home or the self-discipline required to continue with the initiatives they began during the session and enjoy the fruits of their efforts. A three-year duration for Industry Baccalauréat™ allows participants to have the thrill of seeing their efforts bear fruit and build a body of work to which they can keep contributing as the years go by, thus generating compounding returns for a long time.

Why the emphasis on privacy for each participant?

In our observation, participants who join the program (or their sponsors and families) often prefer to work in stealth mode in the early experimental stages of their respective initiatives, a choice that we respect and strive to accommodate. Hence, the default setting of privacy for each participant. Willing participants may collaborate and share in self-organized cohorts, however the  Industry Baccalauréat™ is inherently a personalized program and a pathway designed exclusively for each individual participant.

What do you mean by ‘personalized pathway’?

Over the course of the first 3 months, a Coach will seek out insights to be able to connect the dots from a participant’s proclivities and interests to the landscape of opportunities where they can possibly make a mark. This would also be the time to get the participant started on simple warm-up exercises to build self-awareness through an alignment between their interests, proclivities, personality, environment, their dreams, and the landscape of opportunities.

When does the next session start?

Since each participant follows a personalized pathway, the program starts for the individual whenever they are ready and enrolled.

What is the tuition and how is it payable?

Information on current tuition is available at https://alligatorzone.org/membership once you select ‘AlligatorZone® Academy’s membership plan’ for the Individual Learner.

What is the basis  for the tuition?

As a personalized program requiring engagement with the real world and therefore a level  of care and coaching uncommon in the typical student camps, tuition levels for Industry Baccalauréat™ are benchmarked against the typical investment in the United States for private lessons in a sport or in the arts.

Do you offer a free trial?

We have an easy month-wise cancellation policy. We do not offer a trial because this program is tailored for each student, but participants can cancel at the end of every 30 days subscription (month’s duration), and resume the program at a later time after a quick assessment of where they ought to rejoin for best outcomes.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

We do not offer discounts because this is not a one-size-fits-all mass production offering. Further, as a high-end training and development program designed specifically for improving the quality of talent pipelines feeding various industries of the future, but adjusted for a young audience, our costs are driven by the industry expertise we will need to import into the program periodically to meet every participant’s varying needs. Therefore, discounts can’t be built into the cost structures unlike cookie-cutter after-school activities or camps.

We want a program for students to learn how to pitch their startup idea and launch it.

AlligatorZone®’s Industry Baccalauréat™ Program is a comprehensive program that includes knowledge and performance tasks from multiple workshops. If a student has a startup idea, that will be nurtured and avenues to present the idea, or launch a startup will made available with the support of the parents, if the program participant is less than 18 years of age.  Once the student has been prepared for  the startup launch, AlligatorZone® will guide the student towards opportunities for visibility to the world  outside.

When will AlligatorZone® resume their highly popular events held in public libraries, where kids meet cool startups?

Since the free public events are extremely resource-intensive to produce, we will resume them as soon as we have a few motivated participants in AlligatorZone®’s Industry Baccalauréat™ Program . The event program came to a grinding halt during Covid-19 restrictions. However, we expect that  participants of AlligatorZone®’s Industry Baccalauréat™ Program will be coached through the event program because the erstwhile Ambassador program will also be rolled into the Industry Baccalauréat™ Program. The flaw in the Ambassador program was the lack of commitment of participants and an absence of skin in the game, something which we expect to resolve when managed as part of the more dedicated and sustained coaching that is possible under the Industry Baccalauréat™ Program
