Summer Workshops – History

AlligatorZone® Academy’s Summer Workshop Series – Page Archive from prior years:

2017 and 2018

AlligatorZone® Academy’s workshops, piloted in June 2017, are in beta version, and they keep evolving.

The workshops deliver for kids and teens and an accompanying family member, an engaging coursework in a thoughtfully designed workshop format through a set of carefully curated or hand-crafted:

  • Coursework that’s Kinesthetic and Activity-based,
  • Case Stories or case-studies curated with story-telling for kids, and
  • Communication exercises for getting things done.

Originally designed at the request of some parents in June 2017, at AlligatorZone®, we have been piloting premium workshops for kids as an alternative and enriched learning environment.

What Workshop Participants Say:

Workshop Demographics:

With these workshops, AlligatorZone Academy aims to support families that make an early commitment to helping their kids gain a head start on college and in life.

Workshop Goals:

The workshops will aim to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset in the children, and steer school-age kids through simple steps for creating a body of work that sets them apart from the crowd as they prepare for high-school, college, and life.

Seven Things You Can Expect at 2018’s Workshops (in Beta):

  1. Guidance for kids to identify, start or continue pursuing their passion-project on their own.
  2. Lessons in life-skills used by entrepreneurs, made easy and exciting for kids.
  3. Choice of one workshop or more while avoiding loss of continuity due to modular structure.
  4. Convenient evening hours for face-to-face sessions – for a parent to join and enjoy the session for free while chaperoning.
  5. Separate workshops for ages 7 – 10, and ages 11 – 15.
  6. Structured curriculum with Contemporary Case-Stories, Kinesthetic Coursework and Communication Exercises.
  7. More of inter-personal communication, and less screen-time.

More Background Information.

Kids need entrepreneurial leadership skills for success in a fast-changing world, no matter what career they choose to pursue. AlligatorZone® Academy aims to teach, among other things, life skills such as communication, problem-solving, independent thinking, and understanding an entrepreneurial mindset that helps kids with never losing their innate curiosity. It is never too early to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

The 2018 summer Entrepreneurial Leadership Skills workshop series called, ‘A Startup State Of Mind’ aims to provide families with the tools required to help their youth develop an entrepreneurial mindset in a jargon-free and joyous journey.

Additional Coaching:

This a premium workshop series. Contact us separately for specialized one-on-one coaching or mentoring sessions to be made available in a limited edition optional extra, for kids who already have their own entrepreneurial projects underway and need ongoing resources.

Format of Our Seasonal Workshops:

  • Workshops will be offered in face-to-face sessions. Virtual sessions via video/audio conference for those who live far are being considered.
  • Each workshop is a set of 3 sessions, 90-minutes long, held on three days in a certain week.
  • Week-long daytime workshops may also be offered in select cities.
  • Like a hop-on / hop-off tour bus, parents may book seats in one or more workshops in no particular sequence, without loss of continuity. Workshops are uniquely designed learning modules, with each module emphasizing one unique aspect of entrepreneurial leadership, while our kid-friendly case-stories will still touch upon several aspects of entrepreneurship and commerce — this allows you to choose one workshop or more, throughout the summer, depending on your convenience, without loss of continuity or learning.

Parental Involvement:

  • Participants will have some fun prep work to be done at home, both, prior to, and in-between the sessions, to make for an enjoyable and enlightening week of activity-based learning. Parental/family involvement may make it more enjoyable for the kids.
  • The presence of a parent or guardian with their kids during the workshop has been found to be useful. Hence, the free registration for a chaperone.
  • Workshops will be separate for kids of ages 11 – 15, and those of ages 7 – 10.

Written Testimonials:

The Academy began its summer workshop series in the summer of 2017, as a very thoughtfully crafted premium product at the request of parents seeking to invest in a more enduring coaching program, over and above the free public events held by AlligatorZone in various cities.

Here’s feedback on AlligatorZone® Academy’s 2017 summer workshop from a parent who attended along with her 11-year old:

“I want to thank you for all of your effort in putting together a great overview of what it takes to start a business. Daniel has learned a lot and has enjoyed this experience. He most enjoyed meeting the founders in person but also really liked the video calls with Actev Motors and Bakeys. Nice that he learned that he needs to prepare with research and assignments to make the most out of a meeting! He also really enjoyed being an ambassador last weekend.”
